RV Caulking

Your camper or RV moves down the road bringing with it fun and memories. Taking special care of your RV is important to ensure that everything works when you want it to.

The seams and seals around your windows, doors, vents, and lights are numerous but they need to be inspected often. Check for voids in the caulking to ensure water cannot enter your camper. Check the corners, check around the base of your TV Antenna on the roof, check around the legs of the ladder, check around the windows, check all over.

For the sides of the camper use a general purpose caulking that is the same color as your camper. Our shop uses DYCO 20/20 multipurpose caulking. It is flexible and goes on easy. DO NOT use silicone for sealing your camper. It is very difficult to remove should you need to and you cannot apply any other sealant over the top of it.

Since most RVs have a rubber roof you must use a special sealant on them. Regular caulking can damage a rubber roof and cause it to break down. Our shop uses Dicor Lap Seal for rubber roofs. It is a self-leveling sealant that smooths itself out after applied.

Always allow caulking or sealant to dry before exposing it to the elements. Remove any old caulking where possible before applying new. Love your camper, and it will Love you back.
